Oldest UFO ever

Well, that title could make for some very interesting blog hits couldn't it!

I was having a bit of a clean out of my linen cupboard and once again came across this quilt that I started for my Miss 12....when she was my Miss 2! I can't believe I only have the border quilting and the binding to do! Maybe it's just because I'm not that into country prints anymore....

I really shouldn't let all that fabric go to waste though should I!

I'm not that into country, ummm, ever. BUT it's gorgeous and very cozy looking so I expect it to be finished soon!

You HAVEto finish it, throw in a chenille border!

Put it back in the cupboard for another 20 years and gift it to her as a vintage quilt ;)

Surely the country colours will make a comeback again??? Although I'm not sure my mum ever moved away from them ;)

Ooh, finish it up Sel! The funny thing is that whilst you might not choose to make it again, I'm sure you'd pounce on it in an op shop! Those nine-patches are gorgeous. If you opt to rework it, then you could completely change the vibe by popping those lovingly-sewn squares amongst a heap of white sashing... I think the muted tones are actually very beautiful.

Oh it's a dilema. Do you finish something you don't like, just for the sake of finishing it, or do you put it back in the cupboard. My oldest UFO was an aran jumper which I started for my holidays in 1998, tried to finish for my holidays in 1999, lost the pattern in 2003, used some of the yarn for something else in 2004, found the pattern in 2005, turned musty in the basement in 2009....
Wouldn't Millie like that quilt in her bed? Angel has a Barbie quilt which is very cosy.
